Lest anyone assume that Chris is a “poser”, the old girl isn’t ruminating on the Aurora’s rosy fingers welcoming a new dawn, but rather on the treat that was supposed to be thrown in that direction – but wasn’t.

One of the prettiest mornings this summer.
The tail end of last night’s big storm left Duck Lake as dark as night during parts of this morning’s walk.
As might be expected, the threatening skies did little to dissuade Chris from swimming early and often.
The colors were crazy just before this morning’s sunrise. So much so that the psychedelic purple picture of the lake hasn’t been “pushed” in Photoshop at all – just a minor level adjustment and unsharp mask.
The same is true for all of the flowers. These beauties are all as seen just up the hill from the White Lake Eagles.

What seemed to be shaping up a clear sunny morning – at least before sunrise – turned out to be anything but. These are from before the thunderstorm.

There is also a picture of some sort of mystery mushroom (?) that was in the middle of the trail. Does anyone know what these things are?
This little darling was floating on her flower in the middle of White Lake. Rather than take her chances with passing fish and boats, she accepted a ride to shore on the deck of the kayak.

An early morning fisherman on Muskegon County’s Duck Lake.
This was from a morning walk early in October. Needless to say, the sun’s appearance was very brief.
The sun rises over the field at the corner of Michillinda and Lamos in Muskegon County, Michigan.
In the summertime, this corner is a really fun place to watch deer, which can be seen most hours of the day happily grazing away.
