Mostly from this morning’s roundabout route to the farmers market via the old railroad bridge on the north branch of the Muskegon River.
What was supposed to be a cold, clear morning became increasingly cloudy on the walk to the river.
And then, while heading back to Muskegon…the first snowflakes of the year!

On Monday, an early start and the extra miles were supposed to mean a sunrise over the Muskegon River from the old railroad bridge near the Causeway.
The walk couldn’t have been nicer, but the grand plan went astray when clouds moved in just as the sun was scheduled to make its entrance.
What a shame to have to try again next week.
These are from the same part of Muskegon Lake as a week ago. This morning’s light fog and odd clouds gave the lake a completely different look. The fourth picture really shows off the framing of the high clouds.

From the Muskegon Farmer’s Market…and, yes, they are as good they look!
The walk to the Farmer’s Market started out with a gorgeous clear sky to show off the full moon. Then, right at sunrise, a cloud bank rolled in that made for a pretty dramatic picture from the boat launch at Heritage Landing in downtown Muskegon.

There was a crazy glow over Muskegon Lake before sunrise this morning.
There is no Photoshop gaming of saturations or hues on these, just a light level adjustment…which is a geeky way of saying…good morning!

Just before sunrise on an early spring morning, this was the view from behind the old SPX building in downtown Muskegon.
This was Heritage Landing just a few weeks ago. With any luck, it won’t look like this again for many months.
