These spring flowers seemed to be pushing through way too early, especially since these pictures come from a walk in mid-March!
The morning sun appears over one of the old ponds that line Muskegon’s Lakeshore Bike Trail.
This morning’s walk around Muskegon’s Ruddiman Pond was one of the coldest of the winter. While the breeze was extremely light, its effect on any exposed skin was painful.
In spite of the cold, the beautiful sunrise lighting up the ice made the trip well worth making.
Not knowing that the circus had arrived in Muskegon made it a shock to come face to face with one of the performers this morning.
The extreme cold didn’t seem to bother my new acquaintance in the least. Indeed, he seemed not at all inclined to pull in head back into the tent!
This leaf was frozen to the walkway of Muskegon’s Lakeshore Bike Trail near the Cobb plant. The ice crystals gave it a really pretty fossilized effect.
Just a few steps farther along, this berry was equally chilly, but was still a really gorgeous red.
